Italian Town to Ban Mini Miniskirts!

Just how mini can a miniskirt be?

If the mayor of a small Italian town has his way, law enforcement officials, and not fashion gurus, will be the ones to decide.

The mayor of the southern seaside town of Castellammare di Stabia wants to ban soccer games in public parks and squares, blasphemy out loud, and "very skimpy clothes."

The rules are expected to be approved by the city council on Monday.

Conservative Mayor Luigi Bobbio said that miniskirts and other provocative outfits will still be allowed as long as they are not too revealing.......

Sperm fluid may hold key to longer life, Austrian scientists find

Vienna - A substance contained in sperm fluid prolongs life and might be used in fighting Alzheimer disease, Austria's Graz University announced Monday.

Researchers Tobias Eisenberg and Frank Madeo have found that the substance spermidine extends the lifespan of human immune cells, as well as of mice, flies, worms and yeast fungus.

'We might have found the holy grail of age research,' said Eisenberg, whose study involved 29 colleagues in six countries and was published in the British journal Nature Cell Biology on Sunday.

In tests with mice treated with spermidine, cell damage linked to aging was reduced, and the scientists found that the substance increased the ability of cells to get rid of damagedproteins.

The findings could become relevant for diseases linked to old age such as Alzheimer and Parkinson, the university said.

Spermidine is contained in high concentrations in male sperm, but it is also found in grapefruits, wheat germs and soy beans.

F-16 takes out a Chevy Suburban!

Crazy photo of a Chevy Suburban that got lit up by mistake, by an F16 pilot near the air-ground gunnery range outside Dugway, Utah. The ‘light paint and body damage’ is the result of a one-quarter-second burst by the fighter’s 20 mm gun, which fires about 3000 rounds per minute. An estimated 70 rounds left the gun; the results are impressive to say the least.

Last April 9th, at Dugway Proving Ground in Utah, two soldiers were driving a rented SUV about five kilometers from the part of the range used for live firing. It was at night, and an F-16 that thought it was firing at something in the live fire area, lit up the SUV instead. Only 70 20mm rounds were fired. Fortunately, the two people in the SUV were only injured (both from flying glass, the passenger got a dislocated shoulder as he rapidly exited the vehicle when it quickly turned off the road and stopped.)
